Emily Thompson, Violin
Emily Thompson is a professional musician and teacher based in Fort Wayne, Indiana. She has degrees in violin performance (B.Mus) and early music (M.M.) from Bowling Green State University and Indiana University Jacobs School of Music. She has performed in professional orchestras throughout the Midwest, including the Marion Philharmonic, Fort Wayne Philharmonic, and Muncie Symphony. As a chamber musician, she has performed at Carnegie Hall with Soprani Compagni. She performs in chamber ensembles specializing in sacred baroque music at Redeemer Lutheran Church and Concordia Theological Seminary. As a baroque violinist, she performs with the Fort Wayne Bach Collegium.
As a teacher, Emily is the director and teacher of the Indiana Wesleyan University Suzuki Violin Program in Marion, IN, and also has a private studio in Fort Wayne. She has taught violin at Oak Farm Montessori and the Indianapolis Suzuki Academy. During her graduate pedagogy studies, she taught as an assistant in the IU String Academy and Summer String Academy.
